OOTD: Winter Blues

It's winter and it's personally my least favorite season. I go into hibernation. Once I'm cold I just can't warm up. I also recently lost my best friend here in NC so I'm definitely feeling those winter blues.

A warm, stylish, outfit in winter can help me get through my toughest times :]

This outfit is definitely an eye-catcher. I've been stopped multiple times and complimented on how stylish I looked. I love sweater dresses for colder weather but this is one of the warmest sweater dresses I own. I picked it up at H&M a few years ago when I was living in Florence.

I paired my blue and cream sweater dress with grey vertical striped tights, blue knee socks, and black leather boots. I topped everything off with grey sparkly beanie I picked up at JCPenney  during Christmas time for half price. I paid 9.00 USD originally 18.00 USD. Beanies seem to be really 'in' this winter!

To dress everything up I added my dark grey wool jacket from Zara. It's a bit fancy so I save it for special occasions. I also purchased this a few years ago while also living Italy. Extra large hoods are so elegantly beautiful and unique; I'm completely sucked in.

I tend to gravitate towards greys and blues in winter. I think it's a beautiful combination. I hope this outfit inspires you to step out of your comfort zone and be stylish while staying warm.

Questions, comments, and advice is welcome! I hope everyone's winter is going better than mine. Love you all so much xoxo

OOTD : Maxi Skirt for Cold Days

I love wearing maxi skirts in cooler weather! I think the thicker maxi skirts can sometimes get way too warm in summer. I've been wanting to shoot this outfit since last year but lost this skirt in my overcrowded closet! Alas, I have found it and I hope you enjoy!

I got this grey maxi a few years ago from Target and love wearing it with tights and some boots on those cold, hot cocoa, days. I paired it with a fitted, burgundy, long-sleeved top I got from H&M. Since it was cold out I thought a big, over-sized, scarf was in order. I went with this patterned scarf I picked up while in Morrocco. I think it adds some rich hues to a simple outfit like the one I'm wearing here.

I always wear these leather, lace-up, ankle boots with this outfit. I'm still on the fence with the clicking sound they make. Sometimes I think it's sexy/feminine and other times I feel self conscious because my shoes are making a racket. What do you think about your shoes clicking?
I picked these boots up while living in Firenze.

This outfit is so comfy that I wore it traveling back to NC from a very sad Thanksgiving break at my grandparents. Here I'm wearing it with my beautiful family before leaving my grandpa :[

My beautiful mom, me, and grandpa
Me looking very chilly, dad, and grandpa :]

Who's ready for the weekend?!

Bath and Body Works Haul!

Bath and Body Works Haul!

I was given a lovely gift card to Bath and Body by a dear friend for my Birthday. I was waiting months for the right sale and I finally found it! They had a ton of products for 75% off!!

I picked up 2 lotions and a body wash in one of my favorite signature scents; Sweet on Paris. It smells like candy and sweet desserts. I personally love smelling like sweet, sweet, candy :]
Each was only 2.75 USD originally 11.00 USD.

I was waiting for the candles to go on sale as well. The first one I picked up was a small, one wick, candle in Garden Bouquet. I thought it smelled like lilac but I was mistaken. The tag says the scent has hyacinth, whit rose, lily, and jasmine. Very floral, very spring!
This was 3.12 USD originally 12.50 USD.

I gobbled up 2 of the stress relief body lotions in Sandalwood Rose. It smells just as the name suggests. It's a warm, rich, scent. It may not be for everyone. I kept smelling it because I wasn't sure I liked it or not. Within a few minutes of sniffing I realized how much I loved it! Plus, I need all the stress relief I can get.
Each was only 3.25 USD originally 13.00 USD.

The second candle I grabbed was one of their 3 wick candles in Sicilian Orange. They had a whole bunch of their large candles for only 8.00 USD originally 20.00 USD! Sicilian Orange smells exactly like fresh squeezed oranges with a hint of sweetness that comes from blended floral notes. I thought it would be a great summer scent since I already have so many fall/ winter scents.
 Love it!!

In total I saved $85.13 and paid only a little over $25.00.

I still have so many gift cards from my birthday and Christmas. I always wait so long to use them! Hehe

Have you shopped at Bath and Body Works lately?

Pure Unrefined Shea Butter in Lavender by Out of Africa : Treat Your Nails!

A few weeks ago I went shopping at my favorite organic grocery store ever; The Fresh Market. I got some amazing, healthy, foods but also picked up some organic body care :]

The Fresh Market has an amazing beauty selection. Their bath salts are to die for! I must do a review on that as well but today I'll talk about this pure unrefined shea butter by Out of Africa.

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this for my nails!! Before this I was using Smith's Rosebud Salve and Josie Maran Argan Balm (which I do like as well) but this Out of Africa shea butter takes the win.

It's winter and my poor nails go to poo. They peel, crack, my cuticles become more visible, and overall my nails just look unattractive. This shea butter hydrates my cuticles so much so, that I don't even notice them. Score! I don't have as many hangnails and it's helped with the peeling. No complaints here.

You get a ton of product for the price. My family and me picked up these on sale for 9.99 USD.

My family picked up the Vanilla scented one. The only difference is that the vanilla shea butter has vanilla bean oil instead of essential oils and of course the scents are different. I used the vanilla shea butter for a while but it just isn't as smooth and creamy as the Lavender shea butter. Plus, the lavender scent was much more appealing in my opinion.

I've been using this everyday since the new year. At night, I just rub this all over my nails and nail beds. I even rub some on my lips before my nightly lip balm to make them extra soft. This is so multifunctional, I love it! I've also been putting it on my elbows and knees. I just rub it with my fingers to warm it up so it becomes nice and creamy. I use it at night since it's very thick and takes some time to absorb. A little goes a long way.

It's just a great moisturizer with great benefits. I love that it's organic and goes to a good cause as well! Plus, the tin is so fun and reminds me of summer. Much love here :]

If you have a Fresh Market near you, your in luck. Their groceries are amazing and so is everything else!

Questions, comments, and advice is welcome! Hope everyone is having a great year so far!

Inglot 17 SHINE : Freedom System Palette

I have around 31 new Inglot shadows and with some brand new palettes I splurged on during their black Friday sale! It only  happens once a year so I endured much waiting and saving. 20% off all shadows- you can't beat that. I spent days looking through swatches to see what colors I wanted for all my palettes so I'm returning the favor :] I hope that these Inglot shadow reviews/ swatches help someone else create their palette!

17 SHINE is a warm, shimmery, minty, green with pretty golden shimmer. It definitely has more yellow in it compared to Matte 345 (pictured above). I really enjoy the AMC SHINE finish for Inglots' shadows. The AMC SHINE is just so pretty, pigmented, and buttery. It's shimmery but it has beautiful flecks of glitter that even show up on the lid. I have had no fallout trouble with any of these shadows.

Texture is soft and buttery. Pigmented and really easy to work with. This would be a great color for spring :]

Below, I have17 SHINE all over the lid. It was applied with a flat comcealer brush (MAC 195).

In the crease I'm wearing MACs' Patina shadow and for the liner I'm wearing MACs' Tarnish liner smudged with Inglots' Matte 340 (pictured above) using a pencil brush.

Each shadow retails for 6.00 USD using the freedom system. During Black Friday they were 4.80 USD.
The 4 pan palette retails for 10.00 USD.

You get a ton of product for the price. This shadow (17 SHINE) has 3.2 g / 0.11 oz.  Mac shadows only have 1.5 g / 0.05 oz.

Questions, comments, and advice is welcome! Hope everyone is having a great week so far :]
I'm already looking forward to the weekend! Hehe

OOTD - JCPenney Arizona Plaid Dress in Patchwork + Jewelmint Audrey Love Earrings

My family and me did some after Christmas shopping! While running to H&M I quickly grabbed this patchwork dress at JCPenny that I'd been eyeing a few weeks before. I wasn't sure I liked it but my mom convinced me to keep it and I'm glad I did!

I thought I'd do this outfit of the day since apparently it's pretty eye catching...a guy stopped me a few days later asking if I was the girl in starbucks... and I sure was. I credit the dress of course :]

I paired my patchwork dress with a blue cardigan (Zara), blue leggings (H&M), a cranberry colored scarf (JCP), and for an extra layer of warmth I threw on my favorite leather green jacket I got in Firenze. I forgot to put on my cream knee socks but I wore those with these cute, lace up, brown boots I got from Target last year.

I also wore my Audrey Love Earrings from Jewelmint. I loved the fall/ winter colors they released for one of their best selling earrings and I now have a little Audrey collection going. I always get so many compliments with all my Audrey earrings.

Now the dress!

The material is nice and thick which I love. It has a cotton slip underneath, removable/ adjustable straps, a cute sweet heart neckline, fit & flare figure, and a helpful stretchy panel in the top back of the dress. It runs a little small. I was surprised that the small (what I'm wearing here) was a little snug and usually I'm a XSmall.  The best part about this dress? Last time I saw it, it was $42! This time when I hunted it down on the clearance rack, it was $13.99! Score! Glad I waited till after Christmas :]

You can find it here on the JCPenney website for the same price I found it.

Love it!
