St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub Review

I've been putting off negative product reviews for such a long time! I don't like putting down a product because everyone is different and something that doesn't work for me might work for someone else. But without further ado lets talk about the St. Ives Apricot scrub!

The first few times I used this product I actually really liked it. My skin looked smooth and felt soft. But with more use I gradually saw my face become more red. I wasn't even using this every day- I was using it about twice a week. After a few weeks my face was becoming beet red. I looked like a tomato :[ It was not fun. My skin is sensative and prone to redness so I think this scrub was just too harsh.

Not only did it make my skin super red but it really irritated my acne. I felt like it spread my acne and made it worse instead of helping it. Overall, my face was so irritated that I had to stop using this.

I thought I could use it for my body acne but it's still too irritating. I currently just use it as a arm and leg scrub to get rid of it.

After having so many problems with this product I looked up reviews and did some research. From what I gathered, the beads (walnut or ground up apricot seeds?) in this scrub are too sharp and pointy- this creates tiny tears in the skin. The small tears in the skin lets in bacteria and damages the skin in the long run. I'm not sure if this is 100% true but either way it doesn't sound good!

You either hate or love this product. And I know a few people who love this. My acne/ redness prone skin however does not

What do you think of the St. Ives Apricot Scrub?

Have a beautiful weekend!

OOTD : Sperry Top-Sider Audrey Boat Shoe in Platinum

OOTD : Sperry Top-Sider Audrey Boat Shoe in Platinum

It was a hot and humid day so I put together this fun casual outfit with a hint of beach!

I went with my favorite light wash skinnies from Zara, an over-sized navy blue crop top from H&M, and since I was going to work I threw on a sea-foam green basic tank from H&M underneath. I wore my aviators from JCPenny and I really wanted to try out my new Sperrys so I had to wear those! For jewelry I kept it simple with blue polka-dot button earrings I made ;]

I was so excited to get a pair of Sperry's but I had so much trouble with the fitting. I'm usually a 7 1/2. The 7 1/2 fit but the threading from the top of the shoe was rubbing my toes and it hurt so bad! So I sized up to an 8 which was really big so I had to load it up with heel liners. Still they are not very comfortable. Maybe I just need to break them in... still super cute and my co-workers were fascinated by the platinum color :]

I find the platinum color is slightly hard to style but I've found they look better with light washed jeans/ shorts. The metallic color is a nice change though for my wardrobe!

I purchased my platinum sperry's from on sale for 49.99 USD.

Do you have a pair of Sperry's? Did you have to break them in?

Have a beautiful week :]

Nars Eyeshadow Duo in Cordura

I purchased my first NARS product... EVER!! And I can't be more happy :D
I've been dying to try a NARS product forever. My favorite beauty guru Elle Fowler gave a 20% off $75 coupon on her blog for I couldn't pass up 20% off NARS products as well as some amazing high-end skincare which never goes on sale. So I made the plunge! Thank you Elle!

I saw Elle's sister (Blair Fowler aka Juicystar07) raving about this duo in this video: here. It looked absolutely stunning on her.

Cordura features two brown shades. A medium warm brown shade and a slightly cool deep brown shade. Both have beautiful gold shimmer. They are as smooth as butter. Soft and silky. I don't think I've ever felt shadows this luxurious. These shadows not only feel amazing but they blend like a dream. Pigmentation is great. Hardly any fall out especially considering how dark these shades are. This duo looks amazing together. Great for a deep smokey eye. Perfect for date night :]

Packaging is lovely. Has a rubbery exterior. Maybe that helps in case you drop it? I don't want to find out! Simple, sleek, and elegant looking.

It's honestly the best 34 dollars I've spent on eyeshadow in a while. Worth every penny. I have no complaints with this duo. Would repurchase again and again. NARS has me so happy with these 2 shadows that I want to try a few more duos from the line!

I bought mine from They had free shipping plus I had a 20% off coupon and they always give awesome samples! I have seen this duo at Sephora as well. Retails for 34.00 USD.

Here all I did was sweep the lighter brown shade all over the lid then brought the deep brown shade in the outer V and blended into the crease. Dark brown shade is smudged under the eye.

Hope everyone is having a lovely week so far!

OOTD: Lace Crop Top with High-waisted Shorts

I finally purchased my first few pairs of high-waisted shorts and I'm so excited to wear them before summer leaves us! I usually don't go for ripped jeans or shorts but since these shorts were such a light wash it added just the right touch! To go with my high waisted shorts I picked up a lacey cream crop top.

I decided to tuck in my crop top to show off my shorts a little :] Love!

Just paired the outfit with casual white straw flip flops and dangley shell earrings I made.

I absolutely love this cream lace top! It's so feminine and girly. All the edges are scalloped. The front has a cream slip under the lace but the back is the best part! Its completely sheer and looks amazing with a cream lace bandeau underneath. Great for these hot summer days. Also, down the middle is small cream buttons. I love the effect :]

The shorts ran a little big for me. The site mentioned the model was wearing a 26 and since I was about the same measurements I went with a 26. But the 26 was too big at the waist.

I took it to get altered but she took in the sides which didn't tighten the waist enough and instead tightened the area around the booty. I may have to get them redone but I'm going to wear them for now :]

I purchased my 'Vintage-Inspired Distressed Denim Shorts' from for 17.80 USD. They are still available here.
The 'Sleeveless Lace Top' was also purchased from for 15.80 USD. Still available here.

Have you tried high-waisted shorts this summer?

Have a great week everyone!

Forever 21 Buttoned Chiffon Maxi Dress in Royal Blue

I made a few purchases from forever 21 but this one was my most recent! I saw this dress on Tiffany D. aka MakeupByTiffanyD on youtube. You can see her video here. I thought the dress and the deep royal blue looked absolutely stunning. This was right after I bought my forever 21 black lace chiffon dress from my previous post. Darn! But I just had to have this one too! Sadly it was no where to be found on The other day I was browsing the sale items and somehow it magically appeared and I immediately gobbled one up :D

This dress was on sale for 20.99 USD originally 24.99. I purchased mine in the sale section on I think the royal blue sold out fast but this dress is still available in a pretty aqua color here.

The whole dress feels and looks expensive. The fabric is light and slightly stretchy. Sheer but there's a silky slip underneath on the top and down to mid-thigh. The fabric is a deep royal cobalt blue. The sun (even in the shade) seemed to wash out the richness of the blue in the photos.

The back is simple with a low scoop neck. The middle has a stretchy band which would look great covered with a thin belt as well. The front of the dress has pretty bronze metal buttons going down the middle till about where the slip ends mid-thigh. After the buttons end, the fabric is slit down the middle. I really love the slit because it makes the dress cooler and more open on hot days. The dress also has 2 cute pockets on the front.

I ordered a small. I'm about 5' 8" 110 lbs. The dress is slightly loose on me but not so loose it looks bad. And I usually don't have a problem with length since I'm pretty tall but the dress is a little long and touches the ground slightly. I may have to get it hemmed.

Here I just paired the dress with simple bronze flip-flops from Old Navy and some beautiful bronze dangle earrings from World Market.

Questions, comments, and advice is welcome! Have a beautiful day :]

China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy

I don't know about you but it is hotter than blazes here in North Carolina! I've been loving this bright neon coral color from China Glaze, Flip Flop Fantasy. This is definitely an eye catcher and definitely bright!  My nails glow with this polish.

Formula is thick and creamy. Applies a little gloopy but evens out when it dries. Have to work with the formula a little but sooo worth it! Very opaque. Dries fast and dries to a semi-matte finish. In the pictures I'm wearing one thick coat and a top coat (for shine). Wears fairly well.
Definitely a summer must have :D

Have a great week guys! Questions are very welcome :]
