First Urban Outfitters Purchase!

My First

I finally got around to placing a order with Urban Outfitters! I always found their clothing and shipping to be a little on the pricey side. They have some really beautiful clothing pieces you can't find anywhere else. My brothers birthday was coming up and I had no ideas. Guys are so hard to shop for! But Urban Outfitters had some unique gifts on their site. I found some quirky toast coasters (which are absolutely adorable and come packaged as a loaf of bread) and some awesome band-aids haha.

I put in some more pieces to get free shipping. Above, is a few beauty/fashion related items I picked out for myself :] and the whole box came with a cute sheet of 'Love Me' stickers. Yay!

Last year, I saw these super cute heart sunglasses on bethanys' youtube channel aka Macbarbie07 and fell in love!

The heart glasses are over-sized for sure but I love them that way! I tried on some similar heart sunglasses at JCPenneys and the smaller hearts just didn't look as good on me. These are a little loose though and I'll probably have to break out the needle nose plyers and carefully do some adjusting. I am so in love and have been wearing them since I got em! Retails for 16.00 USD. Find them here.

For the heck of it I also threw in some of these fancy hair bands. I split them with my mother who wanted to try them as well. I know these are big right now and I thought I'd give them a try. I've never seen this type of hair tie till they recently started popping up everywhere. Though I hear they have been around for ever. Where have I been?!

I have thin hair and three times around does the trick! It creates a nice tight hold. I pictured the two lace ones (the deep pink and lime green) below to show how they look in the hair. I was quite curious myself. Cute! Retails for 5.00 USD for a set of 5. Find them here.

Overall I am thrilled with my purchase! The heart sun glasses have quickly become one of my favorite pairs and my brother loved his awesome 'toast it' coasters (find them here).

Questions, comments, and advice is welcome! Have a wonderful day ladies :]

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Blue Paradise

Maybelline Color Tattoo in

I can not for the life of me find the summer 2013 collection for the Maybelline Color Tattoos. I managed to find this lone one, Blue Paradise, at my nearest Ulta store. Blue Paradise was third on my list so I'm still glad I managed to find at least one of the collection to hold me over till I find the rest ;]

So glad I picked this one up! It's such a stunning, unique, color! It reminds me of Blue Orbit from MACs' Extra Dimension collection or MACs' Tilt eye shadow (see pictures below for comparison shots). Blue Paradise is a sparkly light lavender blue. I was slightly bummed it wasn't as duo-chrome as I thought it would be but I got over that pretty quick. It does have a slight purple/aqua sheen to it but not incredibly noticeable when worn.

Texture is creamy, soft, and buttery. It is the perfect consistency and even more smooth than my original 'Bad to the Bronze Color Tattoo. Pigmentation is slightly sheer but very easy to build up to the color you desire. I'm glad it is kind of sheer because I love layering this. Blends like a dream.

Wears beautifully. No creasing even at the end of a long work day. You will see pictures below of me wearing it after a long workout and it still looks great.

I've been wearing this everyday since I got it. The lady at Ulta is suppose to hold a few more from the collection if any come in their Tuesday shipment. Crossing my fingers! I'm after seashore frosts and waves of white. They look so unique and I always love a duo-chrome finish. From the swatches I've seen it appears both of those have just that :D

Retails for around 6.00 USD depending on where you purchase it.

Have you found or tried any of these summer color tattoos from Maybelline?!

Here is Blue Paradise layered on top of Maybellines' color tattoo in 'Bad to the Bronze'. It creates a beautiful natural look. Blue Paradise is great for layering as well as a base. This was taken after a run and an intense workout - it held up well! I meant to take pictures before my workout :]

In comparison to MACs Blue Orbit and Tilt eye shadow :

Blue Paradise is more metallic than the two MAC shadows applied dry. Mac Tilt is maybe a hair more blue and MAC Blue Orbit is slightly more purple. But overall these shades are pretty close and honestly I love all of them :] Hope these side by side comparison shots are useful!

Have a lovey day! Questions, comments, and advice is welcome :]

OOTD : Black and White with a Little Red

I'm still confused as to why black and white is a trend this spring but I've decided to put together a black and white outfit anyways. I think black and white fits perfectly into every season :]

I went with a printed, Pairs themed, white, knee length skirt with a loose, button down, blouse tucked in. I kept the sleeves down and unbuttoned giving the outfit some pizzazz with a little flare. I put on a basic leather wrap belt and knotted it to the side. I like to add a belt if I wear a skirt higher on the waist. Plus, the belt helped cinch everything in. Since I love red with black and white, I opted for a pair of shiny red flats, red dangle earrings, and a red leather bracelet to add some color.

Shirt is from a.n.a. at JCPenney. Bought for 18.00 USD. Find it here at
I bought 2 of these shirts because they are so comfy, stylish, and great for the work place!  I want to get more. They offer some beautiful colors as well.

Skirt I've had since at least high school.
Belt and bracelet are from the Italian markets.
Earrings are handmade from an artist in Prague on the Charles Bridge. Artists line the bridge with beautiful work so if your ever visiting Prague make sure to stop by the stands on the Charles Bridge. I bought so much jewelry there!

Red flats are from target. Retails for 14.99 USD. Find them here at I honestly do not recommend these. I had to hot glue felt around the heels (which helps tremendously) because the material is so hard and sharp. These are super cute but were quite painful to wear!

Here's a look of the outfit being worn :

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! Questions, comments, and advice is very welcome!

Fragonard perfume in Rose de mai

I don't know why I want to keep sharing my favorite scents because everyone is different when it comes to perfume. But I just can't help wanting to tell everyone how great it is ;] and I could'nt not talk about this long time favorite scent by Fragonard; Rose de mai.

Let me first start out with how luxurious I think Fragonard perfumes are! This perfume company is the real deal. I first discovered them while on a trip in france I we happened to stop at Fragonards' main factory! It was such a special treat and of course I got to smell lots of scents and make some purchases along the way. The scents are rich, complex, and fragrant. They even have perfumes that are meant to last 6 years! Plus, their packaging is so elegant.

My friend I was traveling with actually turned me on to this rose scent. She had been using it for years before. One wiff and it was mine! If you love the scent of roses- you will fall in love with this scent. It's a sweet rose scent. I'm a sucker for anything that smells like roses :]
The scent is long lasting as well especially when used with the matching lotion

Excuse it's poor state. I've been nursing these a long time trying to make them last as long as possible since I love it so much!

I went ahead and also purchased the matching lotion in the same scent. I find using the lotion with the perfume makes the scent last twice as long and smell slightly more strong. Who doesn't want that?! I mainly use the lotion for special occasions. I've been saving this for a hot date but alas haven't been on but a few in my lifetime so I guess I might as well start using this more ;]

The 100 ml Eau de toilette 80% volume pictured above retails for 38.00 USD
The 250 ml lotion retails for 24.00 USD

My Luna Moth Hatched!!!!

Last summer we found a big ol' caterpillar hanging around our garden. Unexpectedly, with in the hour we had our caterpillar in it's newly made cocoon. So winter passed and spring came along. I was checking it non  stop everyday this spring because our bug bottle is quite small and I didn't want our new luna moth to die! I thought our moth might be a dud because it wasn't hatching! Lo and behold a few days ago we had a large green moth hanging at the top of the bug bottle! I was running around shouting because I was so excited! I waited so long.  He was stunning!

I even got this guy to model with some products so you'll be seeing this one a few more times in future posts ;] Don't worry I was extra, extra, careful handling him. He dried out pretty quickly. Apparently luna moths only live about a week after hatching to find their mates (we need more baby lunar moth caterpillars!) so we had to let him go that night!

This guy made my day and made the long wait worth it :]

Letting him go! Night photo

TGIF! Have a lovely weekend! Questions, comments, and advice welcome!

Maybelline the Falsies Volum'Express Waterproof Mascara in Very Black

Maybelline Falsies Volum'Express Waterproof Mascara in Very Black

My favorite waterproof mascara from Clinique was discontinued recently. It was a sad day because that mascara would not budge even after a hour shower! So now I'm on the hunt for the next best thing. I'm looking for a waterproof mascara that I don't have to worry about running even if I have to jump in the shower for 10 minutes to freshen up. Also, it has to look good and work well!

I grabbed this Maybelline Falsies Volum'Express Waterproof Mascara. I've been using it for a few weeks now- so lets see how this one measures up!

In the beginning, I was very confused as to how to use this spoon shaped brush  and even resorted to reading the instructions haha but I caught on pretty quick. I just turned it to the side to brush through my lashes. Pictured below is a top and side view of the brush so you can get a better idea of the shape and thickness.

View from the top
View from the side - here you can see the spoon shape of the brush
The formula is different than what I am used to. I usually prefer a more dry formula. This mascara is quite wet and for me, a more wet formula means more clumping. It claims that it doesn't clump but it really does! I even tried brushing off the mascara on the side of the bottle. But I made it work by combing through my lashes with a toothbrush right after I applied the mascara. I managed to remove the clumping with the toothbrush and the effect turns out quite nice! Combing the lashes after application gave it a nice full look since my lashes weren't glued together with mascara. This really gives my lashes a ton of length! I'm also glad I went with very black (usually I don't) but the dark color really looks good with every look I do :]

I can deal with using the tooth brush to comb through the mascara but the only real down side for me is that it doesn't hold up as well in water as my favorite Cinque mascara did. I was hoping to find a truly waterproof mascara. This doesn't run too bad but if you really get it wet you will have dark rings under your eye area. Not very attractive if your going to be doing anything after swimming or jumping in for a quick shower.

If your looking for a good mascara to just to hold up throughout the day- this one is great. It didn't run or flake even when I was at the gym sweating my bum off.

I really do love how this mascara makes my lashes look. Perhaps I'll repurchase it in the future. I'm going to use up the tube but after I will continue my search for a mascara that can hold up a little better in water. I know, who wears makeup swimming? But I usually have plans afterwards with no time to freshen up- having on mascara makes all the difference.

Do you have any suggestions on the next waterproof mascara I should try? Suggestions are very welcome!

Questions, comments, and advice is welcome! Have a lovely day ladies and gents :]
